The following is a list of Eligible Candidates that are running for the 2018 On Reserve Trustee General Election of four (4) On-Reserve Trustee’s:

Lisa Assiniboine: She was born on August 10, 1971 into Long Plain First Nation. Lisa graduated Gr.12 in Saskatchewan at Balfour Collegiate. She studied Indian study at Saskatchewan Indian Federated College. Lisa has lived in Long Plain all her life with exception of 8 years in which she moved to further her education. She has lived at the same residence in Long Plain First Nation for the past 7 years.

Preston Assiniboine: Is a Long Plain resident and is employed with Arrowhead for 17 years. He is a volunteer for Long Plain fire department. He is also a singer when the drum calls.

Lisa Beauchamp: She is currently employed with the Long Plain Housing Department for the past 14 months. She was previously employed with the Long Plain First Nation Trust for 10 years. In June of 2015 she received her Business Certificate through Yellowquill College. She stated that she will do her best to serve everyone to the best of her abilities.

Janet L Longclaws: She is a Community Centered Therapy Diploma Graduate from Red River College. She is also a former Off-Reserve TLE elected Trustee. Presently she is a LOU On-Reserve Trustee. Janet is also a Grade 12 graduate.

Garry Meeches: He has lived on Long Plain First Nation all of his life. Garry has worked on Carpentry. He is also a Housing Maintance Supervisor for the past 6 years. He has also been a Trustee for Long Plain First nation Trust for 4 years.

(Maggie) Margaret Myran: She currently lives in Long Plain First Nation. She has been the Probation Officer for Long Plain for the past 6 years. She has worked for Arrowhead as Human Resources & NIHB Program Manager for a number of years in the past. She is also a foster parent for DOCFS.

Annette Peters: She has and currently lives at the same address located in Long Plain First Nation since November of 1988. She has her grade 12 & Post Secondary Education, which includes Business Administration & Community Centered Therapy Program. She has worked for the band since 1994 & currently works as NNADAP/therapist. She will continue to work for our band as a helper & front line worker and support youth and families of Long Plain.

Delphine Peters: She was raised in Long Plain by her grandparents and has lived there most of her life with the exception of leaving to obtain an education. Long Plain assisted her in becoming a teacher. She would appreciate the chance to give back to Long Plain in any way she can.

Myrna Pratt: She has resided in her current residence in Long Plain First Nation for over 23 year. She works for LPFN as a finance clerk in the Health/NIHB department. She was a trustee for over 4 years and has knowledge and understanding of the Trust Agreement and the operations of the Trust administration. Myrna is a mother of 3 children and has 6 grandchildren whom all reside on LPFN as well.

All Candidates are required to participate in a Public Forum, which has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge, starting promptly at 6:00 pm. The Election will be held on will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Long Plain Spirit Lodge. Voting Polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 pm and the ballot count will start at 8:15 p.m.
